Stella Creasy is recruiting a Parliamentary and Campaigns Manager. Given freedom to think, write and plan, the successful candidate will help lead a small team with a track record of securing change at a local, national and international level.

This is a job for someone with a passion for social justice, a willingness to put their head above the parapet and a commitment to the value of data driven and community led campaigns. They will always make a round of tea, answer the phone and help colleagues with tasks big or small as well as hold strong views on which Tonys Chocoloney is best. They will also be able to draft research, amendments and speaking notes at pace and handle CEOs, SPADs and lobbyists with grace. This is not a role for anyone who thinks this is about writing lines to take or overusing the word 'progressive'. It's for someone who thrives running a team that make things happen and aren't afraid to do so. 

This role offers the bonus of being based both in Parliament and Walthamstow as well as flexible and hybrid working.  

The role will include:

  • Lead the research and analysis for Stella and her team- specialist research skills would be a benefit, willingness to argue a case a requirement 
  • Managing and supporting staff including regular performance meetings and activities 
  • Oversight and development of resources- this includes databases, time and energy of all in the team
  • Producing campaign materials and events whether on or offline. 
  • Liaison with media, campaign groups, individuals and public figures as part of campaigns 
  • Assisting with casework, responding to residents and supporting Stella's Walthamstow team and events. 
  • This role will require occasional evening and weekend work

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience of managing and working in a political or campaigning role [Essential]
  • Strong written, research and verbal communication skills
  • An understanding of Parliamentary processes
  • Sympathy with the aims and objectives of the Labour Party, and its successes and failures. 
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with campaigns technology, including database management and digital design, would be beneficial
